Keep the Ban on Uranium Mining in Virginia

The state legislature may soon vote on lifting the ban on uranium mining in Virginia. This could have serious environmental impacts on the water quality of the Dan River and all downstream bodies of water including Kerr Lake, Lake Gaston, Roanoke Rapids Lake, the Roanoke River below Roanoke Rapids and the Albemarle Sound. Lifting the ban could also affect the Occoquan and Rappahannock Rivers and the Chesapeake Bay.

Kerr Lake Bassmasters Early Bird Tournament

Kerr Lake Basmasters Early Bird Open Team Tournament Occoneechee State Park, main ramp. March 4, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Registration begins @ 6:30. 5 fish limit, 14" minimum. Entry fee: $75/ team, includes $10 big fish entry. 100% payback on big fish, Paying first place and one place for every 5 boats after that (1-5 boats, 1 place; 6-10 boats, 2 places etc.) 80% payback.
